Intromission: The Fussy Bees Necklace

I have always liked bees. The silly cheerful little insects that hang out around the flowers suffer forever cheered me up. Indeed, I decided to gain a necklace inspired by my favorite insects. This is a firm and simple necklace to urinate. Probably the hardest part for me was getting the chain net to sit right, but I think that the finished production is worth the time and attempt. So stick with it and I am sure that you will find that this is a very rewarding project.

Supplies

For this figure I used:

  • 7mm yellow glass beads
  • 4mm black glass string of beads
  • Yellow and calamitous seed beads
  • Gold telegraph (I utilize 24 gauge)
  • Gold chain
  • Gold jumprings
  • Jewellery pliers

Stone's throw 1: Webbing

I started with a understructur of 16" gold chain. Onto that I used jump rings to impound various lengths of gold chain to make the web shown. I did not record this ill-use very cured, so I do not know how long the pieces of chain for the web were, just I would guess that they were between two and five inches. Like I said earlier, this is a fastidious part, just just hang in thither.

Step 2: Make the Bees

I made four bees to decorate the gilt web. I didn't have whatsoever pre-made wing beads( you can find them on fire mountain gems and beads) so I made my own using gold conducting wire. I used a 2-3'' piece of gold telegraph and bent a loop midmost and a loop in each end, and so aligned all three loops to make a duo of wings Eastern Samoa shown. The bee antennae are likewise made with a 1-2'' gold telegram with a eyelet in the middle and along all end. On yet another piece of wire I made a loop at last(you could also use headpins, this was just to a greater extent convenient) and assembled the bees. First a chickenhearted seed drop, then a large yellow bead, and so the wings, the ignominious bead, the antennae, another seed bead, and at length iteration the end to hold IT dead place.

Step 3: Assemble the Necklace

Finally, assemble the bees happening the mountain chain web with jump rings. I already had leap out rings in place for the web where I cherished most of my bees, so I just slipped the bees onto those loops. The necklace hangs a bit differently once the bees are weighing it down in the mouth, and then check to make sure that you still ilk the drape of the vane, but other than that you are done!

Step 4: Closing Intersection

In retrospect, I should in all likelihood give birth calculated the wires for the wings a trifle ameliorate and been a trifle more careful to keep on the chain straight piece assembling the web, but other than that I am pretty happy with the results!
